Savonarola chair Florence, 15th century / Reinterpreted, 2026 Technical Description HAERETICUS is a reinterpretation of the ancient Savonarola chair, developing its original structure through two separate sections connected at a single intersection point, ideally forming an X-shaped composition. The structural elements are made from 8 mm thick aluminum sheets, laser-cut with parallel and asymmetrical openings that subtly recall the stylistic language of the historic chair. The components are subsequently bent and assembled through concealed welding, preserving the visual continuity of the piece. The presence of the sheet metal thickness is softened through a manual grinding and finishing process, conceived to create a smoother and more visually refined appearance. The overall composition is defined by an authoritative yet slender presence, balancing structural strength with visual lightness.
