Pair of Amsterdam School Walnut Armchairs, Netherlands, c. 1930

An important pair of Amsterdam School armchairs in solid walnut from the interwar period. Features vertical slatted side panels, broad armrests, deeply recessed structural frames and distinctive ball feet. Carved decorative elements on front supports. Retains original patterned upholstery with organic motif contrasting the strict geometry of the walnut frames. Influenced by Michel de Klerk, Piet Kramer and Genneper Molen.
