Solid Wood Coffee Table - MORA Series

The MORA Coffee Table by Daniel Couttolenc is a sculptural solid wood coffee table in which multiple exotic species are set within an orthogonal grid at large scale. At 120 × 75 × 35 cm, the surface is generous enough for the full mosaic to be experienced as a composition: a sequence of tones, grains, and textures that the eye moves across slowly, the way it moves across a landscape.

The piece that launched the MORA collection at Design Week Mexico 2025. MORA begins with a deceptively simple premise: an orthogonal grid, precise and familiar, laid across a surface of multiple exotic wood species. The discipline of the structure is what releases the complexity of the material — each species brings a distinct tone, grain, and texture, and the grid gives each one space to be seen.

Premiered at INÉDITO during Design Week Mexico 2025, the collection marks a new chapter in the studio's exploration of order and organic expression. Finished naturally to preserve each species in its most honest state, the surface shifts across the table — from deep amber, through fine pale grain, to the warmer mid-tones held between. In different light the mosaic reads as colour, then as texture, then as pattern. It is never quite the same twice. MORA Coffee Table anchors a living space — a piece scaled and considered enough to carry a room on its own.

Customisation in alternative wood combinations is available upon request. Daniel Couttolenc is a Mexican furniture designer and interior architect whose work moves between sculpture and function. Guided by sacred geometry and the golden ratio, his studio creates collectible furniture — handcrafted in Mexico — that brings a quiet sense of harmony and presence into space.
