The JUNCO Stool by Daniel Couttolenc is a solid wood stool whose form is an interlocking three-dimensional weave of horizontal and vertical beams — a structure that is open, architectural, and resolved. In Tzalam — a Mexican hardwood with a deep, complex grain and a tone that sits between walnut and mahogany — the openness of the JUNCO's structure reads in particular contrast to the richness of the material. The natural finish preserves all of it: colour, depth, and variation intact. The proportions of the JUNCO are derived from sacred geometry, the relationships between beam widths and lengths and heights governed by the golden ratio. In Tzalam, this geometry is felt as much as seen. Handcrafted in Mexico in solid Tzalam with a natural finish. Also available in Mexican Oak (Rosamorada), Red Oak, and American Walnut.
