Steel & Smoked Glass Coffee Table — François Monnet for Kappa, c. 1970

In the early 1970s, François Monnet designed for Kappa a series of coffee tables exploring the contrast between visual mass and transparency. This model features two rolled polished steel arches resting on a smoked glass base, supporting a smoked glass top held in place by discreet metal bolts. The assembly is precise, the overall effect playing on reflection and depth — characteristic of the most resolved Italian production of the period. Condition is very good overall. Even patina on the chrome, no deformation or chips. Light surface wear consistent with age. A collector-grade example for this type. Dimensions: H 30 cm — L 120 cm — W 60 cm.
